		<description>I find it incredible that the US has to import timber given the amount of forest you have (and, as you say, growing faster than its being harvested). It doesn&#039;t seem to me to make economic sense - I guess the cost of imported timber must be so cheap, inc transport costs, to make it worthwhile. Thanks for pointing out the connection; I&#039;m aware of problems with illegal felling in the Amazon rain forests and also with gorillas and orang utans and their habitat, but the tiger connection with Siberia is a new one. Thanks for pointing it out.
