With the start of spring just behind us, we’re excited to reveal some “spring cleaning” of our own! Here are some great changes you’ll find at Vermont Woods Studios:
New Mobile-Friendly Website
We’ve refreshed our old website with a new design, more detailed content, an easier-to-navigate layout, and a mobile-friendly platform! Now it is easier than ever to browse through our collections of Vermont made fine furniture from your tablet or mobile phone. Our web wizards, Neville & Martin, have been hard at work for months re-touching our website to make it faster and more usable, so we hope you like the great changes they’ve made! Keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming blog explaining the upgrades more closely!
New Showroom Hours at Stonehurst
Our beautiful Vermont furniture store & decor showroom has gotten a lot of foot traffic in the last few months! Customers have traveled from all around the Northeast to get a look at our handcrafted fine furniture and the unique showroom it’s displayed in. The feedback has been so great that we’ve decided to stay open for longer hours, seven days a week! You can now visit Stonehurst Monday-Saturday from 9am-6pm, and on Sunday from 12pm-5pm! Our showroom is full of great furniture pieces, decor, and Vermont made lighting– we’d love for you to visit us!
Introducing Laura Zindel Dishware at Stonehurst & Our Online Store
Since 1997 Laura Zindel has been creating these functional and durable pieces of artwork using a method inspired by both the Arts and Crafts Movement of the early 20th century and the “Cabinets of Curiosities” encyclopedic collections of the Victorian era. These unique Laura Zindel pieces are a beautiful accessory to our fine furniture as they live up to the handcrafted quality that Vermont artistry is known for. You can find Laura Zindel’s work both online and at Stonehurst.
Introducing Hubbardton Forge Lighting at Stonehurst
Our luxury Vermont furniture and decor showroom is fuller than ever, and we are beyond excited to reveal that we are now carrying a selection of beautiful handcrafted Hubbardton Forge lighting pieces! Hubbardton Forge lighting is heirloom quality, making it the perfect accent to our handcrafted fine furniture. Hubbardton Forge takes great pride in the products they create, and only produces pieces that achieve the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. We hope that you’ll take the time to visit us and see these incredible works of art up close!
Whew! Well that’s just about it for now. Are you as excited about the changes as we are? We hope so! To keep up with us and all of our new products, sales, and showroom news, follow us on Facebook and on Twitter!
PS. Look forward to more blogs explaining each of these changes in greater detail!

Neville, Martin and Kendall have been leading an extreme makeover effort for our fine furniture website over the last 6 months (actually it’s been in the works for a couple years, but we weren’t able to really get it off the ground until Neville got here last December). Although everyone on our staff has had an important hand in the project, it’s been the 3 geniuses in the IT/Website room that have powered the transformation.
Today we start migrating over to the new, improved website so there will be a few unavoidable outages. In exchange for your patience we can offer you many new features that I think you will love– like return customer rewards, more intuitive navigation, easy check-out, elegant design and straightforward pricing of furniture pieces with customized options. Plus we have new, improved fine furniture bedroom sets and dining sets that will always be on sale for 20% off.
But if you happen to drop by while we’re offline today, please feel free to browse through our blog or give us a call (888-390-5571). Liz, Sean or Douglas will fix you right up! We appreciate your patience and promise to have the site back up and running better than ever, as soon as possible.

An irony of our love of the outdoors and our great appreciation of nature and natural environments is that we at Vermont Woods Studios Furniture spend quite a bit of time each day indoors in front of a computer! That’s just the nature of a web business I suppose. We sure do need to be “hard wired” or “connected” for a lot of our eCommerce business functions.
Manjula, Kendall and Dennis on a Walk and Talk by The Brown Farm on West Road in Vernon
But for a lot of us these days, our work days are much less physical then they use to be. Some days it just seems that you could spend the entire day in your chair as everything you need either comes in or goes out via the computer. We don’t even have to get up out of our chair to send or receive faxes anymore! But then what about times where you don’t need the computer like meetings and discussions? Times when we can work unplugged? Just everyone roll your chairs a little closer together?
Well we have found a better alternative that works great for us and gets us up, out & about! You see in our office we have taken to walking meetings, or what we like to call our “Walk & Talks”. Near our office we have the luxury of having some great scenic, and quiet rural roads. So most days of the week we take to the streets and conduct our “non computer” work during our walk. Just a quick divided road crossing and then under the railroad bridge to the right and we are in perfect walking territory!

These quiet tree lined streets lead us past dairy & horse farms, corn fields, and into some nice residential neighborhoods. Ringing phones replaced by singing birds and rustling leaves! Moving more then just your hands and fingers! And if we time it right the cows will be by the fence waiting for us or my favorite black & white pony will be in view. It seems most of our best ideas and problem solving takes place out on these walks. We hope you work in an area that provides a quiet and safe walking area. If so give walking meetings a try! It just feels great to get some fresh air, real light, stretch the legs and just be up, out & about!
