Focus and recharge with new home office and living room furniture during our first Fall furniture sale of the season.
Pumpkin spice season is upon us! Soon it’ll be time to break out the thick sweaters, jackets and boots here in Vermont. As a native New Englander, Fall is definitely my favorite time of the year. I get to plan apple picking trips, bake lots of pie, run through piles of leaves with my black lab Charlie and watch the foliage change on my ride into work.
This summer why replace the furniture in just one room when you can save on two?!
Do you find yourself making lists? Are you usually knee deep in five different projects? Perhaps you’re on the phone while sending an email and watching the news? Well multitasker, you’re in luck. We’re kicking off the summer with a Living Room & Home Office Sale.
I want you to think about the last few homes you visited. Do remember if they had an office or designated area in their home for a desk? When I think about, the majority of the homes I visit, in fact don’t have an office space and if they do, it’s seldom used.
When did using a desk become taboo? While I know we won’t come up with an exact answer here, I have a hunch that it’s related to our constant on-the-go mentality and separation anxiety from our electronics.
There’s a popular saying, “You weren’t born to just pay bills and die” and we agree.
When I was 20 and studying in the Netherlands, I took a weekend trip to Trapani, Sicily (those were the days) and instantly fell in love with the cobblestone streets lined with the famous stucco houses that Italy is known for. Every window it seemed had a small balcony often filled with planters full of flowers and herbs. The sky seemed bluer and the Mediterranean Sea greeted us like the North Star. Once we settled into our apartment we were renting, my friends and I went to a local market and bought enough fresh vegetables, pasta, garlic and Peroni for a feast.
If you work a full time desk job, you are sitting down for approximately 2,400 minutes a week. Now, I think that if you’re going to be sitting for that long, you might as well sit in an office chair that is chic and comfortable. The Cherry Windsor office chair features traditional continuous arm styling on a rolling metal base. It’s wheel base spokes are capped with cherry accent pieces, and like a modern office chair, this one also swivels and has both height & tilt adjustments for the perfect fit. The Windsor style chair isn’t just comfortable. It lends a high end, sophisticated look to the home office, whether it’s modern, traditional, or Shaker style.
Worried about sitting on an solid wood chair seat all day? Well, the seat is scooped out for a comfy fit but if that’s not enough cush, the Vermont Country Store has a pretty good selection of chair cushions that are sure to do the trick.
