So you like the way a bed looks but do you know which is right for you?
Gone are the days where everything was simple. Remember when everything was paid for in cash, you could only watch shows when they were on TV and you had to use a map when traveling somewhere new? Now your phone is a mini-computer, you don’t have to actually hold a book to read it and cars have a camera to help you back up so you don’t have to even turn around and look.

Weston 6-Drawer Dresser: To compliment the Weston Bed, the 6-Drawer Dresser with its double metal pulls and framed edges make this dresser the perfect storage space in your bedroom.
Soho Panel Bed: This bed is perfect for someone looking for a truly unique bed. It’s designed with mid-century modern undertones and a contemporary floating headboard and platform frame. The two-tone wood design is customizable with three different options or you can choose to have it made with one type of wood.
Soho 1 Drawer High Nightstand: Retro and futuristic don’t normally go together, but they partner nicely for the Soho Nightstand. With the box seemingly floating, this type of design comes from highly skilled craftspeople. The added storage is a plus for those in need of more space.
Moduluxe Platform Bed with Clapboard Headboard – 35” Series: A sectional piece of furniture from the Moduluxe bedroom collection, this modern bed is designed to look as if it’s floating. The clapboard headboard give it an added flair, perfect for someone looking to make a subtle, sophisticated statement.
Dominion Bed with Leather Headboard: The perfect combination of masculine and feminine, this bed is popular with everyone. The leather headboard takes the bed from simple and sleek to sophisticated and polished. You can mix and match the wood and upholstery to make it your own.
Dominion Bed with Chatham Slat Headboard: For some reason I can just see this bed at a beachfront get-away. The slat headboard gives it a light and airy feeling, perfect for a good night sleep after a day in the sun. The sleek, clean lines showcase the high quality craftsmanship.
Dominion 3 Drawer Chest + TV Organizer: This piece is perfect for someone in need of storage space, but also short on space. The three drawers allow for clothing storage, while the open space allows for a cable and/or DVD box to be stored. It also compliments any of the Dominion Beds and dressers.

Picture this: You’re laying out in the sun at a beach. You’re the only person there. All you hear are the waves calmly crashing on the shore and the tall grass behind you shaking in the ocean breeze, maybe a distant sea bird cooing. The sun is warming you like a light blanket as you sway slowly in a hammock. You gently outstretch your fingertips and skim them through the warm, soft sand as you move.
Did you feel relaxed imagining that scene? And, are you someone who has trouble falling asleep at night? If you answered yes to the latter question then you’ve probably tried many different techniques to help get you to sleep. One strategy I use, is a technique in which you build a relaxing place in your mind until you fall asleep. Envisioning the beach scene as I described above always works for me!
Another way to help calm your mind is to create a relaxing bedroom environment. You’ve probably read design blogs that recommend soothing or muted wall colors, bedding free of busy designs and so on.
But have you thought about using your bedroom furniture as a way to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere for yourself?
Our new Copeland Wave Collection can help you do just that. The collection highlights a sleek, minimalist design that showcases innovative three dimensional carved faces on the case pieces and headboard of the beds. The carvings mimic the rippling effects of soft waves in water and are accentuated with metal hairpin legs or round tapered wood legs giving the contemporary design, an essence of mid century modern flair. The collection is handmade from maple hardwood and is available with two finish options.
Taking on conventional design, this collection offers you a unique bedroom set, that will not only help create a calming atmosphere but also give you a chance to showcase your creative side. Create the atmosphere you’ve been dreaming of (literally) and wake up feeling rested in our Copeland Wave Collection.

I think it’s safe to say every generation is influenced by its predecessor one way or another. I like to think that it’s always for the better, because each generation learns how to improve upon the work of those before them. And with that in mind, I’ve noticed that now more than ever we’re seeing a strong desire for retro inspired products.
Unless you never go out, you can’t avoid running into vintage style ads, soda cans, game boards, fashion trends and furniture designs. There’s hardly an industry that hasn’t been impacted by this demand for retro inspired products. Our newest furniture, Copeland’s Canto Collection is just that, a retro inspired modern take on a classic 1940’s design: hairpin style legs.
Hairpin legs, originally designed by Henry P. Glass in 1941 as part of an outdoor furniture collection used less metal (you can assume to accommodate metal rationing during WWII) all while keeping the strength of traditional legs. Once released, the design quickly rose to popularity and influenced furniture inside the home, from dining chairs to ottomans.
Today you’ll see this back in style design everywhere from Target to One Kings Lane, West Elm and everywhere in-between. If you love the retro look of the hairpin legs and you want it attached to high-quality solid wood bedroom furniture, look no further. Our Copeland Canto Collection, handmade in Vermont, combines the captivating leg design with solid walnut wood for a look that is truly unique.
The Canto Bed is designed with two hairpin legs at the foot of the bed and two solid walnut tapered legs at the head of the bed. The headboard is framed in walnut wood and comes upholstered in a variety of Microsuede and colorful fabrics. The bed is available in Queen and both King and California King sizes.

Mad Men may be over, but mid century modern furniture is still widely popular.
From fashion to furniture and everything in-between there’s no denying the influence AMC’s hit show Mad Men had on the American people. Whether you liked or loathed Don Draper, rooted for Peggy Olson or had a love/hate relationship with Pete Campbell I bet the show either brought you back to those times or suddenly had you wishing everyone still dressed that way.
While I certainly wouldn’t want culture to go back to the 1960s, I’ve found that I do have an affinity for mid century modern inspired furniture and design. What exactly is mid century modern you ask? According to a Curbed feature story, mid century modern describes architecture, furniture and graphic design from the middle of the 20th century (arguably the time between 1947-1957).
When I first started going through our bedroom collections, I was instantly drawn to our Copeland Catalina Modern Bedroom Furniture. With mid century influence and walnut wood, I felt like the Catalina Platform Bed was calling my name. It has clean and sleek lines, a low profile and minimalist style. Perfect for someone looking for something both contemporary and “mod”.
