If you follow us on Facebook, you’ll know that we’ve been suffering from one deluge after another this “summer”. The view from our porch hardly looks like the one our POLYWOOD rockers are looking at above. No… our view is all mud puddles and raindrops. But our ever optimistic sales and customer service staff isn’t letting that get them down.
A couple years ago, in response to customer requests for outdoor furniture, we selected POLYWOOD as the best all weather furniture to meet their needs. Customers wanted sturdy, maintenance free, all weather porch, patio, pool and beach furniture. And we wanted a product we could guarantee for a lifetime, just like we guarantee our wood furniture.
POLYWOOD came out on top of a number of outdoor furniture lines we evaluated. It’s heavy construction is sturdy and durable– it won’t blow off the beach, deck, patio or into the pool. POLYWOOD withstands extreme heat, freezing cold, salty air, and corrosive chemicals so you can leave it outside all year and never have to worry about where to store it. There’s no more mold, mildew, weathering, cracking or warping with POLYWOOD and no painting, staining, waterproofing, stripping or resurfacing.
In addition to all that, POLYWOOD is a great value– it’s a product you will never have to replace. And best of all, for our eco-friendly furniture lovers– POLYWOOD is made of recycled plastic milk jugs.
There’s only one downside of POLYWOOD– it can’t seem to stop the rain.
Memorial Day weekend is the time we start thinking about where to go for summer vacation. Summers are so beautiful (and short) here in Vermont, that many of us don’t go away for vacations. We tool around here in the Green Mountain State… maybe taking occasional trips to the coast of Maine or other scenic spots around New England.
But whether we’re doing a micro-vacation after work in the back yard or heading to Lake Champlain for the weekend, the Adirondack Chair is considered essential equipment in Vermont. So with the school year coming to a close and warm weather settling in (well, at least it’s forecast for the coming week), I thought I’d post a quick rundown of some of our most popular Adirondack chairs. Grab a Long Trail or a margarita while you browse through the selection:
Classic Adirondack Chairs (above)
If you want to feel like you’re vacationing at one of the Great Camps of Lake Placid or Saratoga Springs, then you’ll have to check our our Classic Adirondack Furniture collection. These are pretty authentic replicas of the original Adirondack chair designed by Thomas Lee in Westport, NY back in 1903. Comfy and roomy, this outdoor furniture can be customized online in 7 different traditional colors: teak, sand, mahogany, white, black, green and gray. The collection includes a tete-A-tete group, a love seat, gliders, rockers, dining furniture and a folding Adirondack chair in addition to the chairs shown above.
Long Island Adirondack Chairs (above)
The Long Island Adirondack Furniture collection is a modern take-off on classic Adirondack furniture. Bright and cheerful, this outdoor collection can be customized online in 14 different colors: light or dark blue, tangerine orange, lemon yellow, lime green, sunset red, teak, mahogany, sand, white, black, forest green or slate grey.
Seashell Adirondack Chairs (above)
The Seashell Adirondack Furniture collection is a more high end set, with the main distinction being the size of the pieces. Seashell pieces are over-sized and up to 50% heavier that the Classic Adirondack and Long Island pieces. Great for coastal areas where you’ll never have to worry about losing them to the tide or a strong wind! Available in traditional colors only: teak, mahogany, sand, white, black, forest green or slate grey.
South Beach Adirondack Chairs (above)
The South Beach Adirondack Furniture collection looks much like the Seashell style but it’s smaller, lighter and less expensive. Customize South Beach chairs online in all 14 colors, including the vibrant blues, greens, red and yellow. The chaise lounge in this collection is shared with the Seashell collection– as I don’t think you would want one any bigger (it weighs in at a hefty 53 pounds).
Adirondack Furniture for Kids (above)
What is more exciting for kids than having pint-sized furniture of their own? POLYWOOD has 3 different Adirondack pieces designed specially for the younger generation:
When the summer’s over, you can leave POLYWOOD furniture outside without worry. It’s impervious to rain, snow, ice, and salt water and carries buyer protection warranties you won’t find with other outdoor furniture.
So that’s the skinny on hefty, POLYWOOD Adirondack furniture for your summer vacation pleasure. Now it’s time to start scheduling your time off. Grab your calendar and another Long Trail.

Isn’t Springtime great for relaxing in your rocking chair on the front porch? You can grab a drink and a friend and watch the world go by. I know Douglas is chomping at the bit to do this at Stonehurst as he’s got 6 of POLYWOOD Jefferson Rockers all assembled and ready to put on the porch. We’re hoping we’ll all be able to sit out there by the end of the month or so, as renovations are scheduled to wind down by then.
Since POLYWOOD Rockers were our best sellers last week, we must not be the only ones longing to get outside and enjoy the Spring air. If you’re one of those people and need a sturdy, high end, all weather chair you can leave on the porch throughout the year, give the Jefferson Rocker a look. It can be ordered with or without wicker in your choice of 6 traditional colors: white, black, teak, mahogany, sand and green.
POLYWOOD furniture is eco friendly and made in America from recycled plastic milk jugs. It’s ultra-durable, weather-resistant and can be left outside all year round. At Vermont Woods Studios we guarantee our POLYWOOD furniture for a lifetime of use and we offer a low price guarantee as well.
In Vermont, spring and summer slip by all too quickly so when winter finally rolls out of sight, we want to get outside and relax in the sunshine ASAP. And that’s where the beauty of POLYWOOD all weather outdoor furniture comes in so handy. There’s no longer any need to go schlepping downstairs to the basement and dragging heavy outdoor furniture outside before you can relax on the patio in the warm sunshine.
POLYWOOD is new type of American made, recycled plastic furniture that can be left outdoors all winter long! It’s basically impervious to harsh weather such as rain, snow, ice, and salt water. Made from recycled milk jugs, POLYWOOD is a thick, heavy, dense plastic designed to replicate high quality tropical lumber like mahogany and teak. It’s maintenance free and insect, mold and mildew-proof. And POLYWOOD is available in natural colors, plus white, black and a wide variety of vibrant contemporary colors. Best of all, POLYWOOD colors are infused throughout the recycled plastic lumber, rather than just on the surface so there’s no need to ever refinish. Hooray!
Now your Springtime routine of lugging furniture to the patio, scrubbing it clean, scraping old paint and applying new paint pretty much boils down to this: pour wine, sit on your POLYWOOD with a book and relax in the sunshine.
